Iryna «Nizya» Borshchahivska on the exibition «Women's history month» with picture «Katya»

Hi, I'm Iryna — an artist from Ukraine, now living in Las Vegas. By education, I'm a medical psychologist with a Master’s degree, and during my studies I became fascinated by art therapy. That’s when I picked up a brush for the first time — at first just for myself, but soon painting turned into my true passion.

I had the opportunity to study with Andriy Kutsachenko, an honored artist of Ukraine, whose courses helped shape my creative path. Over time, my works were shown in several galleries in Kyiv — those first exhibitions were incredibly meaningful to me and gave me the courage to keep going.

When the war began, my family and I had to leave Ukraine and start a new life in the United States. It was a difficult transition, but also one filled with hope. Now, in Las Vegas, I continue painting and building my artistic journey. Right now, two exhibitions are showing my work — including one held by the City Hall of Las Vegas, which feels like an amazing step forward.

I’m deeply thankful to my husband — he’s not only my biggest support, but also my muse. His love and encouragement give me strength every day, and so many of my paintings carry that quiet inspiration.

My art is about feelings — about home, memory, healing, and the beauty that still exists even in hard times. Every painting has its own story, and I’m happy to share them with you.
